BOUD’BOIS, a partner in the spotlight

The company Boud’BOIS, founded by Hugo Marquet, Benoît Alix, and Armel de Sansal, gives a second life to isolated trees in the rural landscape, often neglected or felled without being used.

“The logs from our countryside often deserve better than the fire.”

In partnership with the Noël sawmill, they offer an online catalog of planks and beams, guaranteeing traceability, environmental responsibility, and local sourcing.

Reconstruction of Notre Dame Cathedral

No fewer than 2,000 trees from ancient French forests will be used to restore the part of the cathedral destroyed by fire three years ago.

The appeal is being made to Vincent Corbière, Jean-Louis Chalmandrier, Valentin Patry, and Pierre Nogueira, sawmill owners and patrons of the project. They are not the only ones involved. Forty-five sawmills across France have responded to their federation’s call to rebuild the 96-meter spire free of charge.

A new lease of life

Pierre Nogueira succeeds Christian Noël at the Larchamp sawmill (Mayenne). Noël is retiring after 36 years at the helm of the company, founded by his father Joseph in 1948.

Noël Sawmill Takes Over by Pierre Nogueira

While far too many sawmills close each year, some are also taken over. The Noël sawmill in Mayenne, under the leadership of Pierre Nogueira, is a prime example, having embarked on a new chapter with a fresh start.

The new owner, 30-year-old Pierre Nogueira, holds a two-year technical degree in forestry and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Originally from the Loire Valley, he has a strong family connection to the timber industry.
